Marine Hartogs is an independent consultant, historical and contemporary design expert with over 16 years experience in the worlds of auction houses, art, design, collection management and appraisals.

Hartogs was the director of the design gallery Galerie Kreo in London and a Senior International Specialist in design at Phillips before joining Sotheby’s New York in 2018, where she became Head of Design and oversaw the most sought after 20th and 21th century global design markets.

Hartogs has over the last 15 years collected works that run the gamut from Teco pottery lamps dating back to 1905 to the french master Jean Dunand to Scrap Poly works by the contemporary British furniture designer Max Lamb.
She believes the key to building a great collection lies in finding an aesthetic equilibrium in disparate works by design greats of the present and past.
